Welcome to Counseling Corner. IS 318 is proud to present important information for students and parents about school counseling along with imperative and useful year round information to help the Junior High School experience become a smooth and positive transition.

IS 318 School Counselors created “Counseling Corner” by gathering together available and useful resources and information. School Counselors assembled their office materials, on-line educational resources along with the NYC Department of Education websites to create a user friendly link to counseling resources.

This website is broken down into useful sections covering topics such as:
1) Counseling Corner- introduction to the Counseling Department and Character Education.
2) Highlights- including important information about counseling, what counseling is and school attendance and or policies.
3) Counseling Tips- positive reinforcement and counseling reminders.
4) Available Resources such as books or websites.
5) High School Information- choosing the right school, open school dates, and application deadlines.
6) Career Cruising- interest inventory assessment.
7) Tips - for Stress or test taking anxiety. Friendships, bullies or health issues.
8) Respect for All- Bullying/ Intimidation Regulation A- 832 and Sexual Harassment Regulation A-831
