Submit a well-written practice Regents Exam THEMATIC essay on the topic of Geographic Impact on Societies.  Include an introduction (which explains the theme of the essay and tells the reader what you will be writing about), three body paragraphs to answer the task (explaining three different geographic features / impacts on three different regions), and the conclusion (which summarizes the essay). 

 

Please type it in Arial or Times New Roman, size 12.  If you cannot type it, please neatly handwrite it. 

 

This essay will be given credit as homework and will also be worth 5% of the report card grade.

The guidelines are below.  The essay must be typed, font: Arial or Times New Roman, and size 12.

Body Paragraph 1 (5-6 sentences)

·         Identify a contribution and identify the civilization

·         Explain the contribution and how it influenced the civilization

 

Body Paragraph 2 (5-6 sentences)

·         Identify a second contribution and identify that civilization

·         Explain that contribution and how it influenced the civilization

 

Body Paragraph 3 (5-6 sentences)

·         Identify a third contribution and identify that civilization

·         Explain that contribution and how it influenced the civilization

 

Body Paragraph 4 (5-6 sentences)

·         Which contribution do you think is most important? Why?

 

Conclusion (5-6 sentences)

·         Summarize the body paragraphs

·         Strong, ending statement

 

You may submit the essay Wednesday, November 17, 2010.  You may submit it early on Tuesday, November 16, 2010.  This essay counts as both a homework grade and an essay grade.
