Dear 7th and 8th Grade Parents:
At our last PTA meeting, many of you approached us and still had a variety of concerns about the High School Process. Some of the concerns that were voiced were:
- inquiries about the time table for the High School Process
- how important are absences and lateness’
- are there basic requirements that certain schools will examine
- is there an appeal process
After these concerns came to our attention, we thought it would be formative for parents and students to have a follow up session about the High School Process. We will be presenting a web cast tonight, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 6:30 P.M. that will inform parents and students about the high school process. We also thought it would be important to have a perspective from the students’ point of view. To accomplish this goal, we have invited former students back to discuss the High School Process and to share their experiences as they applied to the various High Schools.
During the web cast you will be able to ask questions by following the email instructions on the web page (www.IS318.com). The web cast will also be recorded if you wish to view it at a later time. If you view it at a later time, you may send us questions that we will respond to through an email.
We are hoping that this web cast will prove to be informative and to resolve issues that
parents and students are having with respect to the High School process.
