School Policy

Lateness

Absence

Absence is a major cause of failure. Regular attendance is necessary for success in school. If you MUST be absent, you are REQUIRED to have a note from home. When you have been absent from a subject class and your name is not listed on the absence form, you must satisfactorily explain the reason for your absence to the subject teacher the following day. All unexplained absences from subject class must be reported to your teacher. Disciplinary action will be taken in cases of loitering, cutting or unauthorized movement about the building.

Early Excuses
  • On the day the student needs to leave school early, a note signed by the parent should be brought to school. It should include the reason for leaving, the time, place and location of the appointment and a telephone number where the parent can be reached.
  • Present the note to the Dean or Assistant Principal.
  • Do not ask for an early excuse unless it is unavoidable.
  • You may not leave school early without a valid excuse.

Early Morning Institute

Early Morning Institute students will begin their day at 7:40 am and will participate in a variety of accelerated regents and non regents courses.
