We are a beautiful and diverse school, teaching special education, ELL, General Education, Honors and Gifted classes.
Four Regents Classes are offered to qualified 8th Graders - Algebra, Living Environment, Earth Science, & US History - 98% of our students pass Regents.
Chess Team - 52 time National Champions, NYC Championship winners for the 10th straight year, Premiere Middle School Chess team in the country
The Academy of Music at IS 318 consists of a Jazz Ensemble, Senior & Junior Concert Bands and Chamber Groups
Our Band had 8 of the 15 kids, chosen citywide, to play with the NY Pops at Carnegie Hall last spring.
In Partnership with The NY Pops our students receive semi-private instruction from Pops teaching artists throughout the year.
97 % of our kids that auditioned for arts and music H.S.’s got in
IS 318 is now a testing site for the SHSAT - currently our school has three, free, tutoring programs - based on eligibility, to help get students prepared to take the test.
Our G.O. Club hosts ski trips, bowling trips, dances and a super scary haunted hallway!
Boys Baseball - has won City Title 3 times & Brooklyn Title for the past 8
Girls Softball - has won the Brooklyn Title for the past 3 years
Boys Basketball - has won the district 14 Title for the past 4 years, they have won a total of 11 district titles since 2004
Girl’s Basketball - has been undefeated & won the District 14 Title since 2005
Cheerleading Squad - only 3 years old but already winning many awards throughout the tri state competitions
Dance Program - the basics of ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, contemporary jazz, and other dance forms are taught as the solid background needed for being a dancer. This program is great for aspiring dancers and performers.
The IS 318 Community Garden - our own private giant garden across the street from school is a wonderful outdoor classroom for our Botany classes and club.
Over 25 free after school activities offered Monday-Friday, Visual Art, Rock Band, Engineering, Robotics, Cheerleading, Soccer Club, Science, Languages, Book Club, Film & Multi Media, Drama, Debate, Flag Football and more.
Free Summer Programs are offered to qualified students - Chess, Band, Computers, Botany, Rock Band & Enrichment for incoming 6th graders.
